The Market Surgery
 The Market Surgery

The Surgery will be closed for staff training on the last Tuesday of every month between 1.30pm-2.30pm

The Market Surgery

We are a seven doctor practice, working from purpose-built premises, located a short walking distance from the centre of Aylsham. We have a dispensary next to the reception area.  The surgery offers a variety of clinics which are run by the doctors and our nursing team. All of our consulting rooms are on the ground floor and we have a car park for our patients. We are a training practice for GP Registrars and medical students. Our practice cares for over 9,500 patients in Aylsham and the surrounding area (about an eight mile radius) with a branch surgery at Cawston.

We welcome new patients, and new patient registration forms are available on request at Reception.

Take a look at our Privacy Policy explaing what we do with your information.

Appointment System

Over the last few years our appointment system has stayed relatively the same; giving patients the option of an ‘urgent’ on the day appointment or a routine appointment.  With the ever increasing demand and following feedback from patients, discussions within our clinical team and the introduction of a Physicians Associate to our clinical team we are making some changes to our appointment system.

As of the 3rd June 2019 we are introducing a new ‘Emergency Assessment Team’. This team will consist of a GP, Nurse Practitioner, Physicians Associate and a Practice Nurse.  The EA Team will assess, see and treat patients who present themselves with an acute illness or injury that requires being seen on the day.  For those patients who do not require immediate treatment they will be offered an appointment within 1 – 5 days to be seen in the surgery.  All routine appointments will continue to be seen within 2-4 weeks.

Our reception team will continue to ask the reason for appointments to ensure the patient is seen appropriately.  Please bear with us whilst we make these changes to our appointment system, we hope that the changes will benefit patients and give them more choice about when they are seen.
